Co-op rose ice cream cones make the perfect flower bouquet

The ultimate Valentine’s Day gift? [Photo: Co-Op]

First the bunch of chicken nuggets and now that, we feel very spoiled that Valentine’s day.

If you’d rather enjoy sweets on a bunch of flowers – or something salty like chicken nuggets, then the latest co-op launch might be for you.

The rose ice cream cones are shaped like a bouquet of roses and will launch next week just in time for February 14.

Yes, roses are easy enough to look at, but it’s not all about how they look.

The cones are made of strawberry ice cream mixed seamlessly with a tangy strawberry sauce. The “stem” of the flowers consists of a green wafer cone. Yum.

And it might not just be Valentine’s Day that they are suitable – if you don’t have a fortune to spend on wedding flowers and you want to run down the aisle (to avoid melting) then these might be for you.

All kidding aside, the £ 2 box of ice cream will be available from February 1.

It seems that a growing number of people are avoiding traditional flowers for something a little more original this Valentine’s Day.

There’s one way to go – you can’t eat flowers after all.

If you decide to give this bunch of ice cream as a gift, you’ll need to be pretty sure that the recipient can eat them quickly.

The savory equivalent – the bunch of chicken nuggets – gained popularity after a bride walked down the aisle with a large bunch of McDonald’s nuggets.

According to Delight, the best bouquets are made up of about 24 chicken nuggets. It’s almost enough to share.

Simply pierce the nuggets on bamboo skewers and wrap the outside in cellophane. This is not only for cosmetic reasons, but also because no one wants oily hands.

So why stop there?

If your partner doesn’t like chicken nuggets or ice cream, you can really make a bouquet with any solid food.

We can’t wait to see what happens next. Sushi, burgers, small glasses of gin and tonic? We are there for that.
